Bactericidal Activity Within One Hour In Vitro*
KETEK® exhibits rapid bactericidal activity in vitro against S pneumoniae. In fact, an in vitro study shows that KETEK® has a rapid kill rate of 99.9% against S pneumoniae within 1 hour.4

From a pharmacodynamic study evaluating the killing of S pneumoniae with different susceptibilities to erythromycin and penicillin exposed to a 0.06-µg/mL fixed concentration of KETEK (telithromycin) corresponding to an 800-mg human dose. 4

KETEK® clinical cure rate for S pneumoniae in CAP was 94%

*The clinical significance of in vitro activity is unknown
