KETEK® is An Effective Alternative to Other CAP Therapies
KETEK® is indicated for mild to moderate community-acquired pneumonia (CAP)† and offers these
key benefits:
Tailored Coverage
KETEK® delivers tailored coverage for common pathogens in CAP.
Low Potential to Induce Resistance
In Vitro
KETEK® has a low potential to induce macrolide-type ermB
resistance in vitro. Ketek® has also not been shown to induce resistance
to itself in vitro.
†KETEK tablets are indicated for the treatment of community-acquired pneumonia (of
mild to moderate severity) due to Streptococcus pneumoniae, (including multi-drug
resistant isolates [MDRSP*]), Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis, Chlamydophila
pneumoniae, or Mycoplasma pneumoniae, for patients 18 years old and above.
*MDRSP, Multi-drug resistant Streptococcus pneumoniae includes isolates known as
PRSP (penicillin-resistant Streptococcus pneumoniae), and are isolates resistant
to two or more of the following antibiotics: penicillin, 2nd generation cephalosporins,
e.g., cefuroxime, macrolides, tetracyclines and trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole.
